This Privacy Policy explains how ClipForge ("ClipForge", "we", "us") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the ClipForge mobile application and related services (the "Service"). By using ClipForge, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide

Account information — your email address, name, and password (stored in hashed form) when you create an account.
Content you process — video files you upload and video URLs (such as YouTube or TikTok links) you submit for clip generation, along with processing preferences you choose (such as subtitle language, caption style, and output format).
Support communications — information you choose to include when you contact our support team. Our in-app "Contact Support" option opens your own email client and does not automatically attach your account email or other personal identifiers.

Information collected automatically

Usage data — in-app events such as clip generations started or completed, features used, exports, and plan/paywall views. We use this to understand how the app is used and to improve it.
Device and diagnostic data — device model, operating system version, app version, and crash/error reports.

Payment information

Subscription payments are processed by third-party payment providers (Apple App Store and/or Stripe). We do not receive or store your full card number. We receive limited information such as your subscription plan, status, and renewal dates so we can provide the features you paid for.

2. How We Use Your Information

To provide the Service — downloading, analyzing, and processing videos to generate clips, subtitles, titles, and hashtags.
To manage your account, subscription plan, and usage limits.
To improve the Service, fix bugs, and develop new features.
To send important service communications (for example, about your account or changes to the Service).
To respond to support requests.
To detect and prevent abuse, fraud, and violations of our Terms of Service.

3. Video Content & Retention

Your generated clips are temporary on our servers. Video files processed by ClipForge (source previews, segments, and generated clips) are stored on our servers only for as long as needed to deliver them to your device — generated clips are automatically deleted from our servers within approximately 24 hours, and intermediate processing files are deleted within approximately 2 hours or immediately after processing completes.

Clips you save to your device remain on your device under your control.

4. Third-Party Service Providers

We use trusted third parties to operate the Service. They process data on our behalf only as needed to provide their services:

We do not sell your personal information to anyone.

5. Legal Bases & Sharing

We share information only: (a) with the service providers listed above; (b) if required by law, regulation, or valid legal process; (c) to protect the rights, safety, or property of ClipForge, our users, or the public; or (d) in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case this policy will continue to apply to your information.

6. Data Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), hashed passwords, and access controls on our infrastructure. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your data using reasonable safeguards.

7. Your Rights & Choices

Access & correction — you can view and update your account information in the app.
Deletion — you can permanently delete your account and associated personal data directly in the app (Profile → Delete Account), or by contacting us at the address below. We will delete your data except where we are required to retain it by law. Note: deleting your account does not cancel an active App Store subscription — manage that in your Apple ID subscription settings.
Subscription management — you can manage or cancel your subscription through your App Store account settings (for Apple purchases) or through the subscription management options in the app.

Depending on where you live (for example, the EU/EEA, UK, California, or Canada), you may have additional rights such as data portability or the right to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below.

8. Children's Privacy

ClipForge is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

9. International Transfers

Our servers are located in the United States and Canada. By using the Service, you understand that your information may be processed in countries other than your own, which may have different data protection laws.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version at this page and update the "Last updated" date above. Material changes may also be communicated in the app.
